Experience hospitality at Sterkenburg Castle near Utrecht
The Utrecht region is home to numerous glorious castles and country estates that are known across the country. One of them is Castle Sterkenburg, founded in the thirteenth century. The castle is on a island, so surrounded by canals. An example of power and splendour, situated in the most scenic places in the landscapes. It is located in the lovely Utrechtse Heuvelrug countryside with the meadows, orchards, wooded banks, forest and water. Lots of possibilities for walking, biking, golf etc. On the estate you will find not only the Castle, but also outbuildings like the Coachouse and the Gardernershouse surrounded by canals and a lot of monumental trees. The storks have their nest next to the castle, the chickens are walking through the garden, the ducks are swimming in the canals and the roe deer will show themselves in the orchard in the twilight.
The orchad supplies the apples for the apple juice and the plums for the jam, made by the family. You will probably meet the family who lives on the estate, and their dogs.
Stroll through the lovely gardens with the monumental trees such as oaks, plane trees, lime trees and cypress trees or view the stunning interior in the Castle under the professional guidance of one of the residents.
